Aged Sawn Oak Beams: Refined to produce a timeless artifact that is rich in patina, texture, and character

With the advent of the steam engine, lumber mills were developed as a mechanized approach to production milling, which allowed timber framers to obtain a combination of hardwood and softwood species that were cut to dimension via a circle saw. These dimensionally milled beams were used in lieu of hewn beams to build timber frames with mortise and tenon joinery and wooden dowel pegs for both barns and industrial buildings. These original rough sawn beams were milled from old growth trees, and have aged over time to produce a product rich in patina with a refined texture showcasing faint residual kerf marks created by the original circle saw mills in North America.

  • Original circle saw texture

  • Remnant’s of the first mechanized approach to production milling of our old world wood

  • American heritage preserved in our new homes
