The isolated and awe inspiring coastline of Southeast Alaska is blanketed by stands of immense, old growth forest. The remarkable beauty of this wood is like nothing else in the world. Arc Wood & Timbers is dedicated to sourcing the most unique, sought-after woods on earth. By sheer size, grain and beauty, our quest has produced extraordinary material.
Arc utilizes Radio Frequency Vacuum (RFV) kiln technology that allows us to dry our timbers down to 10% moisture content in less than 10 days, regardless of the timber size. This state of the art of drying technology is 10 times faster than conventional drying practices used today by most companies. Arc Wood & Timbers has carved out a niche in the high-end building market. Each of the species that we sell has unique qualities and advantages in specific building applications. Builders and Architects have been amazed by the beauty and quality of the material that is available from Arc Wood & Timbers. We have had architects call our old growth timbers "furniture quality beams."
The species of wood that Arc sources include the following:

The quality and sheer size of the timbers produced from these trees has not been seen for a long time. The greatest advantage that Arc has with its old growth timbers is that the material can be custom milled into any size, shape, or grain orientation that you need. Arc can also provide material that can be graded for appearance and structural loads. This is a big advantage especially in timber frame construction. We have a strong focus on large custom timbers for timber framing; however Arc can be your supplier for any dimension of lumber you require, from 1x4's to 20 x 30's. Arc specializes in high quality, old growth, tight grain material; which is commonly used for exposed (appearance grade) structural beam & truss packages, corbels, T&G
